Net Zero Strategy and Decarbonisation Roadmap
Turn climate ambition into a prioritised, evidence-led roadmap. Keep decisions with your team.
AIGreen Plus can facilitate a scoped review of your manufacturing boundaries, energy and activity records, value-chain evidence and business priorities. We help structure a defensible baseline, identify practical abatement levers and sequence roadmap actions for management review, without presenting a forecast as a guaranteed reduction.

This consultancy helps Malaysian manufacturers move from a broad net zero ambition to a documented strategy and phased decarbonisation roadmap. We review organisational boundaries, Scope 1 and 2 activity data and selected Scope 3 categories, then assess evidence quality, dependencies, ownership and decision gates. Outputs are a baseline and assumptions register, prioritised action portfolio, measurement plan and management-ready roadmap. Your authorised team approves boundaries, methods, targets and implementation decisions.

The proposed support can structure records and questions; responsible owners still assess evidence, applicability and decisions.
| Review point | Common starting position | Proposed consultancy support | Responsible reviewer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Define inventory boundary and base year | Teams reconcile spreadsheets, entity lists and utility accounts across sites. | Proposed consultancy templates and digital assistance organise evidence and flag missing fields. | Authorised management confirms boundary, exclusions, base year and materiality. |
| Prioritise decarbonisation opportunities | Options are compared in separate engineering, finance and sustainability discussions. | A structured option register can compare evidence, dependencies, owner and decision status. | Engineering, finance and operations assess feasibility, safety, capex and business fit. |
| Plan Scope 3 engagement | Supplier and logistics questions are issued inconsistently or without a defined evidence tier. | Proposed templates classify requests, evidence gaps and follow-up priorities. | Procurement and sustainability owners approve supplier outreach and interpretation. |
| Maintain roadmap governance | Actions, metrics and decisions are tracked in meeting notes and local files. | A bounded register can present milestones, assumptions, exceptions and refresh dates. | Named owners approve changes and report actual progress using agreed methods. |
Make the boundary explicit
Document entities, sites, sources, exclusions and reporting period so later calculations and disclosures have a visible basis.
Create an evidence trail
Link activity records and source documents to assumptions, quality flags and accountable owners without inventing missing data.
Sequence practical action
Rank proposed initiatives by evidence, dependencies, operational fit and decision gates rather than promising a fixed reduction.
Keep governance usable
Set review points, measures, owners and refresh rules so the roadmap can be updated when operations or guidance changes.

45 → 30 combined labour minutes for the same task.
24 one site-month evidence reconciliation pack units per month × 15 minutes less per unit.
9 → 4 per 100 checked error-affected administrative entries, not environmental compliance, emissions reductions, incidents or product outcomes (5.0 percentage points).
See assumptions and calculations
| Measure | Illustrative calculation | Meaning and limit |
|---|---|---|
| Labour effort | (45 − 30) ÷ 45 × 100 = 33.3% | Same workload and expected review quality; includes ongoing exception checks as scoped. |
| Time capacity | (45 − 30) × 24 ÷ 60 = 6.0 hours | Released time is not payroll savings or guaranteed job reduction. |
| Admin checks | (9 − 4) ÷ 100 = 5.0 percentage points; 55.6% relative | Separate fictional like-for-like check of 100 roadmap evidence entries. Nine versus four entries are assumed to need correction before approval; this is not a benchmark, assurance result or quality guarantee. |
Hypothetical same-workload comparison: a client team spends 45 minutes per pack gathering and checking records, while a scoped template and consultant review make the same pack 30 minutes. Both figures include exception handling and human review; they are administrative effort only, not headcount, payroll, energy or carbon savings.
Scenario figures are illustrative arithmetic, not benchmarks, forecasts, actual customer results or guarantees. Measure a like-for-like pilot with the same definitions before making a claim.

What to prepare
- Approved organisational chart, legal-entity and site list from the finance or company-secretary owner
- Utility bills, meter exports, fuel and refrigerant records for the agreed period from facilities and operations
- Production, shipment and procurement activity data needed for agreed intensity or Scope 3 screening from data owners
- Existing inventories, supplier questionnaires, customer requests and environmental objectives from sustainability and procurement
- Capital-planning constraints, project pipeline, maintenance context and decision criteria from engineering and finance
What to agree in writing
- This is scoped consultancy and proposed digital assistance, not installed software, an automated control system or a promise of integration.
- AIGreen Plus does not provide certified assurance, issue a certification, validate a target or replace an independent verifier or qualified adviser.
- Methods, factors, boundaries, target choices and any regulatory or tax applicability require client approval and qualified Malaysian review for the organisation and period.
- Only necessary approved or anonymised records should be shared; access, retention, security, subcontracting and confidentiality terms require written agreement.
- Roadmap actions remain subject to operational safety, engineering feasibility, budget, procurement, permits and management decisions; no carbon, energy, cost or workforce outcome is guaranteed.

10 questions. Practical answers.
Frequently asked questions.
Ten practical answers about scope, sources, review and responsible use.
What does a Net Zero Strategy and Decarbonisation Roadmap engagement cover?
It covers agreed boundaries, evidence review, a qualified baseline approach, hotspot and option analysis, action sequencing, owners, measures and review gates. The exact Scope 1, Scope 2 and selected Scope 3 coverage is set during discovery. It does not promise implementation, certification or a fixed emissions result.
What information should a Malaysian manufacturer prepare first?
Start with the entity and site list, reporting period, electricity and fuel records, refrigerant information, production or shipment context, procurement and supplier evidence, existing inventories and planned projects. If a record is unavailable, we log the gap and its consequence rather than filling it with an unsupported estimate.
Which method or standard will you use?
The approach can be mapped to the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard, its Scope 2 Guidance and relevant Scope 3 categories. ISO 14064-1:2018 may inform organisation-level inventory structure. The selected method, factors, base year and exclusions remain subject to documented scope and client approval; standards are not reproduced or treated as certification.
Who signs off the boundary, targets and roadmap?
Your authorised sponsor owns the decisions. Finance, operations, engineering, procurement and sustainability owners review the evidence relevant to them. Qualified technical or legal advisers should review specialist, regulatory or tax questions. AIGreen Plus can facilitate and document decisions but cannot approve on the organisation's behalf.
Is the roadmap a certification or assurance opinion?
No. A roadmap can improve readiness by making methods, evidence and ownership clearer, but it is not independent assurance, target validation or a certificate. The GHG Protocol itself distinguishes inventory accounting from how verification is conducted. Engage an appropriate independent verifier or programme owner where required.
Are the dashboard figures or scenario minutes actual results?
No. Dashboard rows and scenario values are fictional planning examples designed to show coherent calculations and review prompts. They are not your emissions, energy use, labour baseline, savings, benchmark or forecast. Actual performance should be measured from approved records using an agreed boundary, method and period.
How are confidentiality and access handled?
Use the least necessary approved or anonymised data. Access, storage, retention, transfers and any third-party involvement should be agreed in writing before sharing. Malaysian privacy, security, employment or sector obligations require qualified review; this service does not make a compliance determination or imply a security certification.
Can this work start if our systems and data are incomplete?
Usually, a scoped readiness review can start with available bills, fuel records and site information. Missing data becomes an explicit exception with an evidence tier and decision consequence. Existing spreadsheets or exports may be usable, but interfaces, licences, testing, manual fallback and any digital assistance require separate written agreement.
How long does the roadmap take to produce?
Timing depends on site count, boundary complexity, data availability, stakeholder calendars and the review route. We agree milestones after discovery rather than inventing a duration. Delayed records, changing reporting requirements or unresolved ownership can move a gate. No timing statement should be read as a guaranteed delivery date.
What affects the quotation and what support continues afterwards?
Fees depend on sites, data depth, Scope 3 coverage, workshops, travel, specialist review and requested deliverables. There is no fabricated price or automatic recurring service here. Ongoing updates, evidence refreshes, training or support can be separately scoped with response times, ownership and costs; 24/7 support is not implied.

- GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard
The Corporate Standard provides requirements and guidance for corporate GHG inventories; its Scope 2 Guidance covers purchased or acquired electricity, steam, heat and cooling, and the standard is for accounting/reporting rather than a verification procedure.
- GHG Protocol Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard
The Scope 3 Standard supports corporate value-chain accounting across 15 upstream and downstream categories and helps identify reduction focus areas; it is designed for consistency over time, not unsupported company-to-company comparisons.
- SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standard
The SBTi page describes the Corporate Net-Zero Standard as guidance and tools for science-based targets, and states that Version 1.3.1 remains applicable for target validation during 2026 while Version 2.0 validation begins in Q1 2027.
These official pages support the bounded inventory, value-chain and target-setting references used here. Applicability depends on the organisation, sites, reporting period, chosen method and any programme requirements; confirm current Malaysian regulatory, contractual, tax and assurance implications with qualified advisers.
