Carbon Credit Quality and Integrity Assessment
Make credit decisions traceable. Keep climate claims evidence-led.
AIGreen Plus proposes a scoped review of carbon-credit records, project documentation and intended claims for Malaysian manufacturers. Consultants map evidence against relevant quality principles, flag gaps and prepare a reviewable decision pack. The work supports informed procurement and communications; it is not certification, legal advice or independent assurance.

This service examines whether a proposed carbon credit or credit portfolio has documented evidence for governance, tracking, additionality, permanence, quantification, no double-counting and safeguards. It helps sustainability, procurement and finance teams decide what needs clarification before purchase or public use. Inputs may include registry records, project documents, methodology and retirement evidence. A qualified client approver retains the final decision, and any regulatory or claim applicability is confirmed separately.

Fictional draft: 40 records were reviewed across four evidence packs; 32 have initial support and 8 remain for clarification. This is an evidence-status summary, not a finding that any credit is high integrity or suitable for a claim.

| Review point | Common starting position | Proposed consultancy support | Responsible reviewer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Check registry identity and status | Staff reconcile identifiers and screenshots across files | Proposed structured evidence index and duplicate-field prompts | Authorised reviewer confirms identity, status and source date |
| Review methodology and monitoring evidence | Read long project files and maintain ad hoc notes | Proposed checklist mapping and gap queue | Subject-matter reviewer judges applicability, assumptions and limitations |
| Screen double-counting and claim context | Compare retirement, ownership and claim documents | Proposed cross-reference table for conflicting fields | Client and qualified advisers resolve accounting or legal questions |
| Prepare procurement recommendation | Assemble email threads and approval papers | Proposed evidence-linked draft decision pack | Authorised buyer approves, rejects or requests further evidence |
Trace every unit
Create a source-to-credit trail showing what was checked, by whom and with what limitation.
Make gaps visible
Separate documented evidence from assumptions so reviewers can target the next information request.
Protect decision quality
Link intended wording to retirement, ownership and applicability questions without making a legal conclusion.
Handover a usable record
Provide an evidence matrix and exception log that procurement, sustainability and finance can review together.

55 → 35 combined labour minutes for the same task.
24 one credit-evidence record checked and reconciled units per month × 20 minutes less per unit.
9 → 4 per 100 checked error-affected administrative evidence-record entries, not environmental incidents, compliance outcomes or credit-quality results (5.0 percentage points).

| Measure | Illustrative calculation | Meaning and limit |
|---|---|---|
| Labour effort | (55 − 35) ÷ 55 × 100 = 36.4% | Same workload and expected review quality; includes ongoing exception checks as scoped. |
| Time capacity | (55 − 35) × 24 ÷ 60 = 8.0 hours | Released time is not payroll savings or guaranteed job reduction. |
| Admin checks | (9 − 4) ÷ 100 = 5.0 percentage points; 55.6% relative | Separate hypothetical like-for-like check of administrative records under the same review rules; figures are illustrative and are not a benchmark or outcome guarantee. |
Hypothetical same-workload comparison: 55 minutes before versus 35 minutes after for one record, including consultant/client review and exception effort. It describes administrative checking effort only, not headcount reduction, payroll saving, credit quality, emissions reduction or certification.
Scenario figures are illustrative arithmetic, not benchmarks, forecasts, actual customer results or guarantees. Measure a like-for-like pilot with the same definitions before making a claim.

What to prepare
- Registry records, serial numbers and issuance or retirement extracts owned by procurement or sustainability
- Project design, monitoring, validation and verification documents supplied by the seller or programme
- Applicable methodology, baseline, quantification and permanence-risk evidence with document dates
- Purchase, ownership, retirement and intended-claim context approved by procurement, finance and communications
- Client review policy, materiality criteria and authorised approver list maintained by the ESG sponsor
What to agree in writing
- This is consultancy and proposed digital assistance, not software already installed, a registry operator service or independent accredited assurance.
- AIGreen Plus does not certify credits, issue labels, validate projects, provide legal or tax determinations, or guarantee regulatory or claims acceptance.
- Client owners approve data access, retention, redaction and sharing; only necessary business records should be provided, with personal data minimised.
- Applicability of Malaysian requirements, buyer rules, programme terms and reporting periods is confirmed with qualified advisers for the organisation and period.
- Scope, review depth, external specialist support, recurring monitoring and any licence or implementation cost require a written agreement; unresolved evidence stays unresolved.

10 questions. Practical answers.
Frequently asked questions.
Ten practical answers about scope, sources, review and responsible use.
What does a Carbon Credit Quality and Integrity Assessment cover?
It covers a defined population of credits or proposed purchases. We organise registry, project, methodology, monitoring, retirement and claim records, then map evidence to bounded integrity questions and document gaps. The output is a review pack, not a certification or conclusion that every credit is suitable.
What information should a Malaysian manufacturer provide first?
Start with the credit identifiers, programme and project documents, methodology, monitoring or verification material, retirement status, seller representations and intended claim. Procurement, sustainability and communications owners should also provide the decision policy and the reporting or purchase period being considered.
Which method or standard do you use?
The review can use the agreed programme rules and relevant public criteria, including the Integrity Council’s Core Carbon Principles where appropriate. The exact framework depends on credit type and intended use. We do not reproduce paywalled standards or treat one framework as automatically applicable.
Who signs off the result?
The authorised client approver retains the decision. Sustainability may own the technical response, procurement may own the purchase gate, and finance or communications may review records and wording. Qualified legal, tax or regulatory advisers answer questions outside this consultancy scope.
Is this independent assurance or certification?
No. It is a scoped consultancy readiness and evidence review. It can make questions and limitations easier to hand to an appropriate verifier or adviser, but AIGreen Plus is not presenting this service as accredited assurance, programme approval or a certification result.
Are the dashboard and time figures actual customer results?
No. Dashboard rows and scenario values are fictional examples designed to show coherent review records and administrative effort. They are not market prices, measured emissions, energy savings, headcount savings, quality rates or a forecast. A real engagement would use approved client evidence.
How are confidentiality and access handled?
Access, redaction, retention and transfer routes are agreed with the client before intake, using the least necessary business data and minimising personal information. These controls are not a promise of legal compliance; the client and qualified Malaysian advisers remain responsible for applicable privacy and security requirements.
Can this work with our existing systems and spreadsheets?
Yes, discovery can start with controlled exports, shared folders or spreadsheets if they contain the needed evidence. No integration or installed product is assumed. Any interface, access role, retention rule, manual fallback or implementation support is separately scoped and approved.
How long does the review take?
Timing depends on the number of credits, document quality, access approvals, seller responses and the depth of challenge required. We agree milestones after the evidence boundary is known. No fixed duration is promised before discovery, and external verifier or adviser timing remains outside our control.
What affects the quotation and ongoing support?
Drivers include credit volume, programmes and vintages, document languages, evidence condition, workshops, specialist input, claim-context questions and whether a repeat review is requested. Fees, recurring monitoring, training and support hours are agreed in writing; 24/7 support is not implied.

They do not determine whether a particular Malaysian manufacturer, credit, claim, programme or reporting period is applicable; that requires current document review and qualified legal, tax or regulatory advice.
