CARBON ACCOUNTING & GHG EMISSIONS

Organisational Carbon Footprint (OCF)

Turn scattered factory records into a reviewable carbon baseline. Keep assumptions visible and decisions human-led.

AIGreen Plus proposes a practical OCF engagement for Malaysian manufacturers: set the organisational boundary, assemble activity records, document factors and assumptions, and prepare a reviewable calculation workbook. The work is scoped around your evidence and reporting period, not a pre-installed application or a guaranteed result.

WHAT DOES THIS CONSULTANCY OUTLINE COVER?

An OCF engagement organises a manufacturer’s direct fuel and process data, purchased-energy data and selected value-chain activity into a corporate greenhouse-gas inventory. We help define sites and periods, structure Scope 1, 2 and relevant Scope 3 records, flag gaps, and prepare qualified-review materials. The client approves boundaries, factors and disclosures; this is consultancy and readiness support, not certified assurance, legal or tax advice.

MeasureIllustrative calculationMeaning and limit
Labour effort(90 − 60) ÷ 90 × 100 = 33.3%Same workload and expected review quality; includes ongoing exception checks as scoped.
Time capacity(90 − 60) × 12 ÷ 60 = 6.0 hoursReleased time is not payroll savings or guaranteed job reduction.
Admin checks(8 − 3) ÷ 100 = 5.0 percentage points; 62.5% relativeSeparate hypothetical like-for-like administrative check of unit, period, evidence or factor fields; not a safety, compliance, certification or environmental-performance guarantee.

Hypothetical same-workload comparison: manual gathering and checking takes 90 minutes per bundle; a proposed template and consultant/client review take 60 minutes, including exception effort. It measures administrative time only, not staffing, payroll, factory output or emissions change.

Scenario figures are illustrative arithmetic, not benchmarks, forecasts, actual customer results or guarantees. Measure a like-for-like pilot with the same definitions before making a claim.

Inputs, boundaries and ownership should be clear.

These lists are a starting point. Final scope, access, professional responsibility and outputs require written agreement.

STARTING INPUTS

What to prepare

  • Approved entity, site and reporting-period list owned by finance or company secretariat
  • Utility, fuel and refrigerant activity records with units, dates and source evidence owned by facilities or operations
  • Production, process and purchased-material records needed for selected Scope 1 and Scope 3 categories owned by operations and procurement
  • Freight, waste, business-travel or other selected value-chain records owned by logistics, HR or procurement
  • Proposed factor register inputs: factor, kgCO2e-per-unit basis, source, version, date and approval status owned by the carbon reviewer
SCOPE / CONTROL

What to agree in writing

  • This is scoped consultancy and a proposed workbook/template, not software already installed, an integration or an IoT feed; any mapping feasibility is separately agreed.
  • Client owners approve boundaries, activity data, factors and disclosures; AIGreen Plus does not provide certified assurance or represent an accredited verifier.
  • OCF is organisational accounting; product carbon footprints, LCA, offsets, neutrality claims and reduction-project quantification require separate scope and methods.
  • Data access should be least-necessary, anonymised where practical and controlled by the client; retention, sharing and security terms require written agreement.
  • Applicability to reporting, customer or regulatory requests must be confirmed for the organisation and period with qualified advisers; this page is not legal or tax advice.
PROPOSED DATA STRUCTURE / STATIC REFERENCE ONLY

Make activity, units and evidence easy to check.

Scope and category are proposed classification fields. Confirm organisational and operational boundaries first; the same activity must not be counted twice across sources. Scope 3 relevance and calculation methods require screening, not automatic selection.

Optional fleet, maps and IoT feasibility

Fleet telematics, route/map services and meter or sensor data may be assessed later. Provider/API rights, devices, calibration, coverage, timestamps, quality, privacy, access security, compatibility and cost need discovery and written agreement. This website does not track vehicles, read sensors or collect live customer data.

This is an educational proposal panel, not a form, upload feature, factor database, live integration or calculated emissions result. Numerical dashboard values elsewhere are fictional; approved source data and qualified review are required for an actual engagement.

Confidence comes from traceable evidence.

Set definitions, boundaries, source ownership and review responsibility before interpreting a result. A qualified responsible person decides whether a finding is applicable.

07 / CLEAR ANSWERS

10 questions. Practical answers.

Clear answers

Frequently asked questions.

Ten practical answers about scope, sources, review and responsible use.

What does an OCF engagement cover for a Malaysian manufacturer?

It covers boundary scoping, activity-data organisation, factor and assumption documentation, gap review and a handover pack. The proposed structure separates Scope 1, Scope 2 and selected Scope 3 categories. It does not automatically include a product footprint, offset claim, assurance opinion or regulatory filing.

What data should we prepare first?

Start with the approved entity and site list, reporting period, electricity and fuel records, refrigerant or process data where relevant, and selected procurement, freight, waste or travel records. Each row should carry category, activity, unit, amount, factor, factor source/version/date and evidence.

Which method or standard will you use?

The proposed basis is the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard for a corporate-level inventory, with its Scope 2 Guidance for purchased electricity and other purchased energy. Relevant Scope 3 work can use the GHG Protocol Scope 3 Standard. Final choices depend on boundary, data and intended use.

Who signs off the footprint?

Client-authorised management approves organisational boundaries, exclusions, activity records, factors, estimates and any external disclosure. A qualified carbon reviewer can challenge methods and evidence. AIGreen Plus does not replace management accountability or provide an assurance opinion.

Is this certification or independent assurance readiness?

It can improve readiness by organising evidence and unresolved questions, but it is not certification or independent assurance. The GHG Protocol Corporate Standard focuses on accounting and reporting and does not prescribe how verification is conducted. Any external verifier is separately appointed.

Are the dashboard figures actual emissions or savings?

No. Dashboard rows and scenario values are fictional examples showing how a review pack may be structured. They are not customer measurements, emission totals, energy savings, headcount reductions or forecasts. Any approved footprint must use your reviewed records and documented factors.

Can confidential records be used?

Yes, subject to an agreed access route and least-necessary dataset. Use anonymised or aggregated records where possible, restrict permissions and identify the client data owner. Retention, confidentiality and cross-border handling should be set in writing with qualified Malaysian review where needed.

Can we start from existing ERP, utility or spreadsheet data?

Usually, if exports contain usable periods, units, amounts and evidence references. We first test completeness and consistency rather than promise an integration. Mapping or IoT feeds are optional feasibility work, not a current capability implied by this service.

How long will the work take?

Timing depends on the number of sites and entities, data quality, category coverage, factor questions and review availability. We confirm milestones after the scoping workshop. No fixed duration is promised before those dependencies are understood.

What is included in a quote and ongoing support?

A quote should state sites, periods, Scope 3 categories, workshops, data checks, deliverables, access, revisions and any follow-up review. Recurring refreshes, external assurance coordination, software, travel, training and regulatory advice are separate unless written into scope. Support levels are agreed, not assumed to be 24/7.

08 / SOURCE NOTES

Check the current public material.

These references support an initial discussion only. They do not make AIGreen Plus an accredited or certified verifier.

Public official material — not accreditation.

Official GHG Protocol pages support the accounting-method scope and distinctions described here. Applicability, boundary choice, factor selection and reporting treatment remain specific to the organisation and period and require qualified review; this consultancy page is not legal, tax or assurance advice.

Dashboards and numerical scenarios are fictional planning examples. The services are proposed consultancy scopes, not certification, accreditation, assurance, legal advice, regulatory approval or a promise of emissions, cost, staffing, safety, quality or market outcomes.
